Subrata Chowdhury

Subrata is a highly skilled artist who graduated from the Govt. College of Art & Craft in Kolkata in 1976. Under the guidance of Bikas Bhattacharya, he honed his artistic abilities and developed a unique style. Throughout his career, Subrata has actively participated in more than 50 group shows across the country and has been involved in several art camps. His artworks have been displayed in various prestigious venues, showcasing his talent to a wide audience. The artist has gained recognition through prominent solo exhibitions at renowned galleries. Notable among these are his exhibitions at Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi in 1992, Lalit Kala Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata in 2005, and Chitramayee State Gallery of Fine Arts in Hyderabad in 2006. These exhibitions provided a platform for Subrata to showcase his artistic vision and captivate viewers with his distinctive style. Subrata’s preferred mediums are acrylic and oils on canvas. He skillfully employs these materials to create mesmerizing artworks that are characterized by his masterful treatment of light and shadow. His unique approach to depicting these elements adds depth and dimension to his compositions, creating a captivating visual experience for the viewer.
