Subrata Paul

The artist is a highly accomplished sculptor with an extensive artistic background. They hold a DVA in Sculpture from AFA, Kolkata, which they completed in 1998. Their solo exhibitions have taken place at prestigious venues such as the Academy of Fine Arts in 2008, 2011, and 2014. They have also participated in numerous group exhibitions across India and abroad, including Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. The artist has actively participated in various renowned art events and exhibitions throughout their career. They have been part of the All India Annual Exhibition organized by the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, since 1998. Additionally, they have exhibited their works in events like the AIFACS Zonal Exhibition in 2000 and the State Level Exhibition in West Bengal in multiple years. Invitations to showcase their artworks have been extended by esteemed venues such as Gallery M International, Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Indo Bangla Desh at AFA, Weavers Studio For Art & Culture, and more. They have displayed their sculptures in prominent galleries including Sculpture Gallery, Akrity Art Gallery, ICCR, MEC Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, Lalit Kala Akademy, and various others. The artist has received several awards and recognition for their exceptional talent and skill. Notable among these awards are the Best Sculpture Award in the 71st All India Exhibition organized by the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, in 2006, as well as College Annual Exhibition Awards in 1997 and 1998. They have also been honored with Certificates of Merit from the Government of West Bengal and AFA.
